Meeting Point: Top car park at Ashton Court BS8 3PQ
This is a really wonderful local Nordic walk suitable for most abilites with Marcus as your guide, starting and finishing at beautiful Ashton Court.
We’ll warm up by the top car park, taking in the most amazing views of Bristol and listening to the song of the skylark. Then round the nesting area to head up to Abbots Pool used by medieval monks for the medieval practice of farming for fish.
On to Abbots Leigh, one of the most sought after villages on the outskirts of Bristol with its own church, public house and village hall.
From Abbots Leigh we’ll wind our way back into Leigh Woods and enjoy one of the best viewpoints overlooking spectacular Clifton Suspension Bridge and across the gorge. Then back to the car park and a lovely stretch to release those muscles.
This Nordic walk is suitable for most abilities so come along and see some of the best walking areas Bristol has to offer. Non Nordic waking friends welcome.
