We are excited to announce an absolutely fascinating walking tour with Bristol’s multi award-winning conservationist, horticulturalist and historian Steve England.

You will be taken 1000 years  back in time to learn about the fascinating history of Stoke Park Estate and Purdown – discovering hidden structures, looking at the features and monuments dating back to the 11th century and learning the hidden secrets of the yellow Dower House on the hill.

Stoke Park is rich in biodiversity and Steve will talk through the plants, flowers, trees and fungi some of which are edible and some of which are definitely not! You will also get the chance to discover the wildlife indigenous to the area and immerse yourself in the nature that surrounds you.

About Steve:

Steve trained with the Royal Horticultural Society at Bristol Zoo to an advanced level and has gone on to win a number of awards for his work, including a plaque on the zoo’s Bristol Walk of Fame and Avon and Somerset Police’s Be Proud award for his work in reducing antisocial behaviour. He has been working in Stoke park for over 40 years and he is known and respected all over the country. Steve is obsessed with all wild foods and wildlife and spends most of his time outdoors sharing his knowledge with others.
