It’s now abundently clear that strength training becomes more important as we age, so we shouldn’t be scared or nervous of ‘stressing’ our muscles.
In fact it’s vital we do.
Luckily for us instructor Rachael is an experienced Personal Trainer and passionate about all things muscular, so we are excited to be able to offer a fun 45 minute ‘Strength with Rachael’ indoor class every Monday.
You’ll work within your own ability, just like our Nordic walks, and as we’re in our own room there’ll be no ‘grunting’ from sweaty beefcakes – you’re in a safe space!

What can strength training do for me?
- Stay independent for longer and add vitality to your everyday life
- Aid weight control by burning through calories and this continues even after your workout
- Strengthen your bones and muscles so less chance of breaks or falls
- Help reduce annoying body ‘niggles’ and lessen the debilitating symptoms of chronic diseases
The class is specifically designed for our Nordic walkers (friends welcome too) and caters for all fitness levels, ensuring everyone can participate and enjoy the benefits.
You’ll be using equipment such as bands, kettlebells (they’re great fun!) and using your own body to hold poses that build muscle effectively and safely.
No matter where you are on your fitness journey this class is suitable for everyone and Rachael will give you as much individual guidance as you need.
