You are currently viewing Ashton Court Nordic Walk Including Mindfulness

Date: Friday 23rd September 10:00am

Our instructor Kate Kutchera is big fan of mindfulness, the ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and is combining mindfulness with a two hour circular Nordic walk suitable for most abilities.

Mindfulness aims to help you:

  • become more self-aware
  • feel calmer and less stressed
  • feel more able to choose how to respond to your thoughts and feelings
  • cope with difficult or unhelpful thoughts
  • be kinder towards yourself.

On this walk we’ll enjoy Ashton Court with all its stunning woodland and grassland areas, beautiful gardens and grounds. Skirting round Barn Wood Kate will wind down through the orchid field, turning right into Clarken Coombe Wood where she’ll stop for a short time for the first taste of mindfulness.

Then looping round the woods, past the lodge through Church Wood, up to Ashton Court mansion into the gardens, passing the front vista to take in its full glory.

From here we’ll go up the hill to the summerhouse plantation and head for one of the nine hundred year old trees on site. Kate will pause here for another mindfulness moment to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this wonderful place.

Then back to the start, feeling refreshed in body and mind from exercise and being immersed in nature.
